Part Two · Sublime-Awakening · The Ground Where Walking Ends

The remaining one is severed; the last thought has fallen. The place where it settles is named sublime-awakening.

This part has a single chapter, yet it is a double closing: it closes this book, and it closes the whole journey of the Realization axis's three volumes. The chapter asks one question: how is sublime-awakening to be read—as a higher rung above equal-awakening, or as the road's end? Three scriptural lines answer with one voice for the latter: above sublime-awakening there is no position; and the path's two defining activities—severing and walking—have no object left there. Walking, exhausted, ceases.

And the ground where walking ends is exactly where the other axis takes up its pen. The same sublime-awakening, this volume reads as "arrived"; the Attainment axis's twin volume reads as "the freedom with no further step to walk." The two axes hand over in this chapter.
