The Lines of Transmission.承衍線。

Every edition here declares its mirror — the commentarial line through which the work was historically read. The exposition layer opens the text first, then reads through that mirror; divergent ancient readings are recorded, never adjudicated. The mirror is not the sūtra.

Ordered by the ancient masters. A work read through two mirrors stands under both — that is what its edition declares, not a duplicate to be merged.

An exposition is not a retranslation, not a Western comparison, and not a replacement for the masters' own words. What is taught here the masters already said; the hall only restates it in today's language, so that it can be entered.
