The Inheritance.承衍展。
The scriptures did not walk into China by themselves. This exhibition sets out, verbatim, what each master's file records — a chronology of the translation bureaux, the teaching lines the texts themselves attest, and the full roster of the sixty-four. Every line below is the record's own; none of it is written here.

His preface attests who recorded the* Fahua Wenju: *"this is the private record of Dharma Master Guanding, in twenty fascicles." All twenty half-fascicle bylines in the text read simply "taught by the Tiantai Master Zhizhe," and the phrase "recorded by Guanding" occurs nowhere in it; the recorder's name is found only in this preface. The traditional attribution rests on that internal testimony—both accounts are true and rest on different evidence.

The preface gives the work as "twenty fascicles." In the transmitted T34n1718 the teiHeader reads ten fascicles, cb:juan opens twenty half-fascicles, and the juan milestones number ten: the preface's count of twenty agrees with the half-fascicle reckoning. Both counts are true and differ only in how they count.
