圓測

圓測入本籍之由在其二疏——《般若波羅蜜多心經贊》〔T33n1711〕與《解深密經疏》〔X21n0369〕——而藏中關於他的記載，多半不在本傳，而在別人的傳裡和譯場的名單上。《宋高僧傳》記其受學之形甚異：「三藏奘師為慈恩基師講新翻《唯識論》，測賂守門者隱聽，歸則緝綴義章」〔T50n2061 0727b06〕；其後「奘講《瑜伽》，還同前盜聽受之，而亦不後基也」〔T50n2061 0727b09〕。此事古傳如是，本編照錄不判——所判者唯一句：其學之實，傳文自言「不後基」。

Woncheuk enters this registry through two commentaries — on the Heart Sūtra 〔T33n1711〕 and on the Saṃdhinirmocana 〔X21n0369〕 — while what the canon says of him stands mostly not in a life of his own but in other men's lives and on the rosters of translation bureaus. The Song Biographies record the manner of his learning as a strange one: "when the Tripiṭaka master Xuanzang lectured on the newly translated Vijñaptimātratā treatise for Master Ji of Ci'en, Ce bribed the gatekeeper and listened in concealment, and on returning stitched together chapters of exposition" 〔T50n2061 0727b06〕; and afterwards, "when Xuanzang lectured on the Yogācārabhūmi he again received it by listening in as before, and in this too he was not behind Ji" 〔T50n2061 0727b09〕. So the old account has it, and this edition reproduces it without adjudicating — passing judgment only on the one clause the text itself supplies: in learning he was "not behind Ji."

其在譯場之位則有硬證。永隆元年冬，地婆訶羅奉詔於弘福道場宣譯，其列曰「與西明寺沙門圓測等五人」〔T16n0699 0801a04〕。八十《華嚴》譯成之時，詔命審覆證義者之中，他以「海東法將圓測」〔T50n2054 0282a19〕之名列於義淨之次——本編所據之八十《華嚴》，其證義之席上有他一位。

Of his place in the bureaus there is hard evidence. In the winter of the first year of Yonglong, Divākara translated by imperial command at the Hongfu chapel, and the roster reads "together with Woncheuk of Ximing monastery and four others" 〔T16n0699 0801a04〕. When the eighty-fascicle Huayan was finished, among those an edict directed to review and verify the meaning he is named, next after Yijing, as "the Dharma-general of the eastern sea, Woncheuk" 〔T50n2054 0282a19〕 — the eighty-fascicle Huayan this edition works from had him on its bench of verifiers.

其生卒，藏中不載。本籍所錄之年出於現代權威檔而非經傳，與本編「引據唯經與古德」之律不一——本編於此誌其實，傳文不繫年。

His dates the canon does not carry. The years entered in this registry come from a modern authority file and not from the scriptures or the old biographies, which does not sit with this edition's rule that citation runs to scripture and the ancient masters only; the fact is recorded here, and this life fixes no year.
