最勝子

最勝子在漢傳藏中沒有傳。八帙僧傳與目錄逐一搜過，所見皆書目式著錄，無一條記其人。他在本籍有一檔，因為《瑜伽師地論釋》〔T30n1580〕——卷端署「最勝子等諸菩薩造」〔T30n1580 0883a05〕，次行署「三藏法師玄奘奉　詔譯」〔T30n1580 0883a06〕。署名作「等諸菩薩」：連作者是一人還是數人，卷端都不肯定。

Jinaputra has no life in the Chinese canon. The eight biographies and catalogues were searched one by one in this session, and what they carry is bibliographic entry, not biography. He has a file in this registry because of the Exposition of the Treatise on the Stages of Yoga 〔T30n1580〕 — headed "composed by the bodhisattva Jinaputra and others" 〔T30n1580 0883a05〕, with the next line reading "translated by the Tripiṭaka master Xuanzang, on imperial command" 〔T30n1580 0883a06〕. "And others": the scroll-head will not even settle whether the author was one man or several.

《開元釋教錄》所記者亦只一行：永徽元年二月一日於大慈恩寺翻經院譯，沙門大乘暉筆受〔T55n2154 0556b11〕——一卷之書，一日之記，一位筆受者之名。本編所讀之《瑜伽師地論》，其釋出於此。

The catalogue too gives only a line: translated on the first day of the second month of the first year of Yonghui in the translation cloister of Great Ci'en monastery, the śramaṇa Dashenghui taking it down 〔T55n2154 0556b11〕 — a book of one fascicle, a record of one day, the name of one man who held the brush. The exposition on the Yogācārabhūmi that this edition reads came from there.

本編於其生卒、師承、鄉里一概標不詳，不代為補；卷端之「等」字亦照錄不決。

Of his dates, his teachers and his native place this edition marks all as unknown and supplies none of them; the "and others" of the scroll-head is likewise reproduced and left unsettled.
